But a call was hardly needed.
Strong interest
In creating a Facebook group, Volunteers of the Seas, with a form to apply, the company said in one week it had received more than 3,000 emails, not counting the tweets, comments and messages across its other social channels, from people wishing to be aboard a 'simulated' sailing.
As part of its framework for conditional sailing, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is requiring ships to operate test cruises carrying volunteers.
Only adults (18 and over) will be allowed to sail.
Simple application
The Royal Caribbean application asks simply how many people would be in the traveling party, contact information, citizenship and Crown & Anchor number.
The company said: 'While we review the requirements proposed by the CDC and consider when we can host our simulated trial sailings, we are gathering information from those who have shown interest. Our priority is to ensure that we can exercise our comprehensive set of measures in a safe and healthy manner while making sure we provide a memorable vacation experience. This group will serve the community of adventurers who are excited and ready to be the first back at sea. Get ready to dust off your suitcase and get back to adventure.'
