Antigua Cruise Port chalks up 15,000 passengers in a day

Antigua Cruise Port handled 15,808 passengers in one day, a record.

They arrived March 12 on six ships. Five docked at St. John’s and a sixth was at Falmouth Harbour.

Enchanted Princess, Costa Serena, Costa Pacifica, AIDAperla and Explorer of the Seas berthed in the capital while Sea Dream II was at Barbuda's Falmouth Harbour. 

27 turns this season

Antigua is nearing the end of a homeporting season that will total 27 turns with ships including P&O Cruises' Arvia, Emerald Sakara, Royal Clipper and SeaDream.

Antigua Cruise Port has also recorded 309 transit calls to date, 34 more than during the same period last season.

More than 800,000 cruisers by December?

Financial Controller and Officer-In-Charge Cynthia Jacobs Browne said Antigua Cruise Port is on its way to a record of more than 800,000 passengers to Antigua and Barbuda by December.

The team handled another six-ship day on March 19 and anticipates a five-ship day on March 26.
