BC Tours expands footprint with acquisition of Portugal's Ibercruises

BC Tours aims to expand its portfolio of services to the global cruise industry, entering new countries and destinations
BC Tours acquired Ibercruises, a Portugal-based travel agency specialised in providing handling services for cruise lines.

Earlier this month, Scenic's former SVP cruise operations, Mark Robinson, was appointed GM at BC Tours, part of the Alsa Group.

Part of expansion plans

Ibercruises has offices in Lisbon and Funchal that serve the ports of Lisbon, Oporto and Portimao, Funchal and Azores islands. The acquisition aims to strengthen BC Tours’ position as a leading company in cruise services within Portugal and the Azores.

Close relationship 

Isaac Álvarez, director of Alsa Tourism Unit, described Ibercruises as having an 'excellent reputation in the cruise sector in Portugal and the Azores since 2005.’ 

Carlos Santos, owner of Ibercruises Group, said BC Tours Group is a company ‘we know well and have been working with closely for the past decade.’ He added, ‘... I hope to keep offering our customers and partners the world class services that my proactive team has been developing for the past 19 years.’
