Denmark's Port of Skagen expects a record-breaking cruise season ahead with 68 calls scheduled.

‘Preparations for the 2023 season have been going on for months and all parties involved are thrilled and very much looking forward to getting started again,’ commented Anne Sofie Rønne Jensen, cruise manager, Port of Skagen/Cruise Skagen.

In 2019, Skagen received 43 calls and 66,258 passengers. In 2022, it recorded 49 calls and 81,361 passengers - fewer than originally expected, owing to itinerary changes and challenging weather conditions.

12 maiden calls

Twelve calls will be from ships that have never previously visited, among these, vessels operated by Azamara, Costa Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Explora Journeys, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, MSC Cruises, Mystic Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Sea Cloud Cruises, Silversea and Windstar Cruises.

Familiar faces

Returning this year will be ships from AIDA Cruises, Ambassador Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Hurtigruten, Noble Caledonia, Oceania Cruises, Phoenix Reisen, Princess Cruises, Saga Cruises, Seabourn, The World of Residensea and Viking.

Port of Skagen will attend Seatrade Cruise Global at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale from March 27-30 at Cruise Copenhagen booth #1639.
