Allure of the Seas in line for $165m amplification

allure of the seas' teen space
A 360-degree transformation of the teen space
Allure of the Seas will gain the latest Royal Caribbean brand features and some new twists in a $165m amp-up before its 2020 Europe season.

This will be the second Oasis-class ship in the $1bn 'Royal Amplified' fleet modernization, following Oasis of the Seas.

Allure will add Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea; The Perfect Storm trio of waterslides, completely redesigned Adventure Ocean kids' and teens' spaces, the first Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar and Quantum-class original Music Hall.

The 58-day transformation will take place before Allure begins its Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona on May 10 next year.

Pool and Sports Zone

Besides the 10-story Ultimate Abyss and waterslides Typhoon, Cyclone and Supercell, the Pool and Sports Zone neighborhood will add a Splashaway Bay kids' aqua park.

The reimagined pool deck will add The Lime & Coconut signature bar across two locations, a wider variety of seating and shade with cabana-like casitas, daybeds, hammocks and swing seats; new whirlpools on the top deck and a reinvigorated, adults-only Solarium

Adventure Ocean gets more interactive

In the all-new Adventure Ocean, a major makeover will bring to life interactive, personalized and unexpected activities and features in areas redesigned from top to bottom. These include whimsical rooms with things to climb at Play Place, hands-on art, science and tech fun at Workshop; friendly competition in physical, interactive games at Arena; and the Hangout, with gaming consoles.

AO Babies is for babies and tots, while experiential activities abound in the multipurpose AO Junior space for 3- to 5-year-olds.

A 360-degree transformation of the teen space will create a secret, speakeasy-like entrance leading into an exclusive lounge with gaming consoles, music, movies, places to hang out and a new outdoor deck.

Families can take part in a new glow-in-the-dark laser tag game, 'Clash for the Crystal City,' while the Royal Escape Room features 'Apollo 18: Lunar Landing,' an out-of-this-world expedition that challenges participants to solve puzzle after puzzle before time runs out.

Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar

Allure will deliver an array of culinary possibilities with more restaurants, casual spots and bars.

Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, a new take on a passenger-favorite, will offer the family-style, rustic dining experience with an enhanced menu of Italian staples, complete with hand-tossed pizza from the new in-house pizza oven, an expansive charcuterie station and a wide selection of wines and limoncellos.

Portside BBQ will serve barbecue choices like brisket, pulled pork, chicken, burnt ends, mac and cheese and homestyle cornbread.

Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade is the spot for game day watch parties on big-screen TVs, tournaments, bar bites and brews, while El Loco Fresh will offer casual Mexican 'street fare.' Robot bartenders are coming at the Bionic Bar by Makr Shakr.

Sugar Beach will sell more than 220 types of candy and ice cream.

Music Hall, a live-performance venue from the Quantum class, will feature revolving setlists and cover bands, ample lounge seating on two levels and room to rock out on the dance floor.

Spotlight Karaoke, a dedicated karaoke bar with main stage and private room experiences, will feature thousands of songs, music trivia and themed nights.

After Barcelona, back to Miami

Allure's Barcelona round-trips will visit Palma de Mallorca, Marseille, La Spezia (for Florence/Pisa), Civitavecchia (Rome) and Naples.

In November 2020, the ship will make its way to PortMiami for the winter season, sailing from the futuristic Terminal A. Many of the ship’s Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries feature Perfect Day at CocoCay.
