Trimline is carrying out essential maintenance tasks at sea to prepare cruise ships for a return to operations and said P&O Ferries is among its new clients.

The vessels — which have minimal crew on board and are not carrying passengers — are undergoing refurbishment for safeguarding purposes, ensuring cruise companies adhere to the Chamber of Shipping, Cruise Lines Interational Association or US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention frameworks.

Simon Dawkins, commercial manager, Trimline said, 'One thing is clear to us at Trimline: since our inception in 1965, we’ve continuously evolved our business to support our clients throughout world events, and this will be no different.'

A spokesperson for Trimline added that while some clients have been forced to push back their planned large-scale refurbishments, others are ploughing ahead with these types of works.
