Kotor, Montenegro is one of the Mediterranean ports gaining more Oceania Cruises calls as a result of itinerary changes away from Israel, Egypt and Jordan
Oceania Cruises revamped its 2024 Mediterranean schedule to replace Israel, Egypt and Jordan with other destinations.

Some 42 itineraries were revised on four ships: Vista, Insignia, Riviera and Marina.

This came just one day after Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings became the first major cruise operator to announce it's dropping all Israel calls in 2024.

Peace of mind

'Seasoned travelers will appreciate our strategic and thoughtful realignment of destinations and itineraries to ensure their safety, security and peace of mind,' Oceania Cruises President Frank A. Del Rio said.

Generally, a westward shift

After eliminating the Holy Lands and removing all Turkey calls apart from turns in Istanbul, the general focus was shifting west to ports in Greece, the Adriatic, Italy, Sicily and Malta.

Some Greek Isles ports such as Mykonos, Santorini, Crete and Corfu were added, but the abundance of new destinations are in mainland Italy and in Sicily, and at Adriatic ports like  Dubrovnik, Rovinj and Split in Croatia and Kotor, Montenegro. Valletta, Malta picked up calls, too.
