Sea Cloud Cruises' 2025 Caribbean season is headlined by four new itineraries featuring Puerto Rico on Sea Cloud Spirit.

Homeporting in San Juan throughout January next year, the newest and largest sailing yacht in the Sea Cloud Cruises fleet passing 'El Morro' castle is expected to be a majestic moment for both passengers and shoreside onlookers.

Overnights in boutique ports

Each new itinerary features overnights in boutique ports including St. Barts, Virgin Gorda and Norman Island, allowing extra time to experience local culinary and nightlife scenes. Favorite Sea Cloud Cruises activities such as beach barbecues, crew-led sea shanty singalongs and photo safaris under full sail are also included.

'Old San Juan’s narrow cobblestone streets, lively music and aromas of mofongo set the perfect scene for Sea Cloud Spirit guests to begin or conclude their Caribbean journey,' said Mirell Reyes, president of Sea Cloud Cruises North America. 'Puerto Rico’s robust airlift with direct service from over 20 gateways across North America gives travelers flexibility, and our team is poised to reveal special programming on these sailings in the coming weeks.'

The itineraries

Puerto Rico sailings include a six-night voyage embarking Jan. 4, 2025 from St. Maarten to San Juan with calls at Virgin Gorda (overnight), St. Barts, a day beneath full sails through Sir Francis Drake Channel and Norman Island (overnight).

Two seven-night round-trips from San Juan. on Jan. 10 and Jan. 17  offer the same transit ports as the six-night voyage but with an overnight in St. Barts instead of Norman Island and the addition of Antigua.

The Jan. 24 eight-night cruise, from San Juan to St. Maarten, calls at St. John (US Virgin Islands), Norman Island, Virgin Gorda (overnight), a day under full sail, Antigua, Nevis and St. Barts.

GPH welcome

The new Sea Cloud Spirit itineraries were greeted with enthusiasm by San Juan cruise terminal manager Global Ports Holding.

'As we prepare to assume operations of the San Juan cruise terminals through a public-private partnership with the Puerto Rico Ports Authority, we are excited to strengthen our relationship with Sea Cloud Cruises as they expand their itineraries to ports managed by Global Ports Holding,' said Federico González-Denton, GM of San Juan Cruise Port.

'The entire Sea Cloud fleet has been sailing into Antigua Cruise Port since 2019, and Sea Cloud Spirit will sail into Nassau Cruise Port for its inaugural visit in March 2024. The January 2025 sailings from San Juan will be a fantastic addition to support the growth of this partnership.'

González-Denton added: 'These sailings also align perfectly with our vision to leverage our extensive relationships with the cruise lines to expand the offerings of San Juan Cruise Port once the operational handover is completed.'

Inclusive pricing

Sea Cloud Spirit is sailed by hand. Fares include open bar, wine and beer with meals, port charges, gratuities and a welcome bottle of champagne upon embarkation.

Puerto Rico cruise rates start at $5,130 per person, double occupancy for bookings by Feb. 28, 2024 as part of the line's 'Sail the Wave' offer.
