Aman and Cruise Saudi embarked on a joint venture to launch a 183mtr luxury yacht, with the project name Sama, to enter the market in 2025.

The agreement was signed by Fawaz Farooqui, MD, Cruise Saudi and Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO, Aman.

Commented Farooqui, ‘The signing of this partnership adds a new layer to Cruise Saudi’s offering and is testament to the unique tourism experience that is exploring Saudi by sea, as well as demonstrating Cruise Saudi’s commitment to growing and expanding the cruise industry in Saudi.

‘We aspire to further collaboration with Aman that will bring additional ultra-luxury experiences at sea.’

Project Sama

Currently referred to as ‘Project Sama’ – tranquility in Sanskrit – development of the 100-passenger vessel will be led by Aman, from design and build to operations and management.

Chairman and CEO of Aman, Vlad Doronin described the announcement as an ‘exciting moment in Aman’s growth and evolution,’ adding, ‘We not only continue to diversify our geographical portfolio on land, but also at sea, creating sanctuaries in unfrequented locations…’

He added, ‘Project Sama will provide transformative experiences… creating a whole new category in on the water discovery.’ Aman currently has plans to open resorts in Saudi Arabia's Riyadh, AlUla and along the Red Saudi.

As well as a relaxed club and lounge, the vessel will be home to an Aman Spa – complete with Japanese garden and two helipads – plus Beach Club offering passengers direct access to the water via the yacht’s stern.

Responsible for the yacht’s design is SINOT Yacht Architecture & Design, which is tasked with combining contemporary style with Aman’s eastern heritage.
