On the inaugural departure of 'North Pole Expedition Cruise: The Ultimate Frontier,' A&K will exclusively charter the luxury icebreaker Le Commandant Charcot with A&K’s award-winning expedition team leading the way.
In the fall of 2024, A&K will explore the crossroads of ancient civilizations in the Eastern Mediterranean from Greece to Saudi Arabia, as well as pristine reefs and beaches in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
'We often hear from past guests who loved their experience and want to discover new destinations alongside A&K’s expedition team. So, we are introducing new destinations that most travelers have yet to visit like Saudi Arabia and the Solomon Islands, as well as additional sailings of two of our most popular cruises to Japan and Greece,' said A&K's Stefanie Schmudde, VP product development and operations.
New offerings
The North Pole expedition, July 12-29, 2024, will operate round-trip Svalbard, with further details to come.
The Greece, Turkey and Saudi Arabia cruise, Oct. 16-30, 2024, also includes destinations in Egypt and Jordan, plus a Suez Canal transit. Le Dumont D’Urville will operate the trip.
Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, Oct. 17-30, 2024, sails aboard Le Lapérouse.
Guest favorites
In addition to the new voyages, A&K is offering a range of guest-favorite expeditions, from polar cruises in Antarctica and the Arctic to adventures in Asia and Africa and culture-rich explorations in Europe. Many journeys are combinable.
Programs include 'Seychelles & Coastal Tanzania,' March 1-14, 2024, an expedition from Zanzibar through the Seychelles archipelago. The first 'Wonders of Japan' cruise takes place at cherry blossom time, March 27-April 9, 2024, with a second departure, Sept. 20-Oct. 3, 2024.
A&K's best-selling voyage, 'Cruising the Greek Isles,' is offered June 25-July 4 and Oct. 1-10, 2024.
Other expeditions include Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea, an Arctic cruise in search of the polar bear, a British Isles program with Scotland, Ireland and England, and an Italy cruise.
A European coastal cruise combines France, Spain and Portugal, while an Adriatic voyage takes in Croatia, Montenegro and Greece.
Antarctica
Three Antarctica expeditions are available, one in December 2024, a holiday cruise Dec. 20, 2024-Jan. 7, 2025 and a January 2025 program. Two of these also visit South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.
