British restaurateur and cookbook author Jamie Oliver hosted a brunch in Jamie’s Italian aboard Ovation of the Seas in Sydney on Friday to celebrate his 10-year partnership with Royal Caribbean International.

The first Jamie’s Italian restaurant at sea was launched in 2014 aboard Quantum of the Seas and it is now in eight RCI ships.

Oliver also has 73 restaurants in 22 countries and has written 27 books which have sold 54m copies.

‘It’s brilliant to be back in Sydney and to kickstart my promotional tour by celebrating my long standing relationship with Royal Caribbean,’ he said.

Common vision

‘Jamie’s Italian shares a common vision with Royal Caribbean when it comes to food and dining.

‘Teaming up with Royal Caribbean allows us to serve top-notch dishes in an inviting setting, making dining at sea feel like a real family affair.’

Biggest season

Royal Caribbean was also celebrating the launch of its biggest Australian 2023-24 season.

As reported here, its three ships in Australia — Brilliance of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas — will carry around 250,000 passengers.

Of these, more than 90,000 will sail from Sydney in Ovation of the Seas.
