NCL expanding Starbucks partnership across 17-ship fleet, private islands

Norwegian Encore will become NCL's first ship to resume sailing from the US on Aug. 7 from Seattle, the hometown of Starbucks
Norwegian Cruise Line announced the expansion of its Starbucks partnership across its 17-ship fleet and its private islands just days before making its first US sailing since the pandemic.

Norwegian Encore is scheduled to embark for Alaska Aug. 7 from the Port of Seattle.

Retail products and Starbucks Rewards on select ships

By the end of 2022, NCL expects to be the first in the industry to offer the Starbucks experience across all its ships. Travelers will be able to order the same hot and cold handcrafted beverages, seasonal blends and sweet and savory food items as they do at their neighborhood store. On select ships where a licensed store is available, they also will have access to the retail products and benefits of the Starbucks Rewards program.

In addition, Starbucks' handcrafted espresso beverages will be available at all main dining room and specialty restaurants, with select ships offering self-pour coffee stations at Garden Café, the three-meal buffet.

'We are proud to announce our extended partnership offering the most robust Starbucks experience at sea for our guests just days before we restart our operations in Seattle, Starbucks’ hometown,' NCL President and CEO Harry Sommer said.

Following the launch of the first licensed store on Norwegian Bliss in 2018, Norwegian Joy, Sky, Getaway and Encore also offer a similar experience, with additional stores scheduled for Norwegian Gem, Epic, Breakaway, Pearl and Escape. Norwegian Sky was the first ship to pour Starbucks’ Nitro Brew.

Harvest Caye and Great Stirrup Cay

Later this year, passengers will be able to order Starbucks on NCL's Harvest Caye in Belize and at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, they'll be able to cool off with Starbucks' Cold Brew.

Great Stirrup Cay, guests will be able to cool off with the ever popular Starbucks' Cold Brew.
