New Cruise City app helps cruisers navigate Copenhagen

Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) introduced Cruise City, a free interactive app specifically catering to the needs of cruise visitors.

Cruise City aims to serve the growing demand for diverse, individual and sustainable experiences for cruisers exploring Copenhagen. After downloading the app, selecting their ship of arrival and areas of interest, users will get a personalized guide and interactive map with attractions, experiences, restaurants and events based on interests and time on shore.

Eco-friendly choices highlghted

Moreover, the app highlights sustainable and eco-friendly choices, making it easier to select green experiences. Cruise City promotes the use of public transport, bicycles and walking, while helping to avoid congestion around sights. The app is continuously updated and curated with sights, experiences, events and tips specifically for cruisers.

CMP aims to be carbon neutral by 2025 and aspires to be one of the world's most sustainable ports.

'With Cruise City, CMP would like to meet cruise guests’ increasing demands for individualized experiences and to further better, greener and more sustainable interactions between the city and its visitors,' said Henrik Ahlqvist, CMPs sales director for cruise.

Continuous updates planned

Based on ratings, reviews and recommendations from users, the app can improve tailor-made recommendations for future passengers. CMP plans to continuously add features and smart functionalities based on the experience and feedback of users. CMP plans to increase Cruise City coverage to further cruise ports. It also manages the Malmö and Visby cruise terminals.
