Cunard is staging its first Australian special event in partnership with the Australian Dance Theatre to highlight Queen Elizabeth’s 54 days Down Under between February and April 2019.

As previously reported, two roundtrip New Zealand voyages — one from Sydney and the other from Melbourne — and three roundtrip voyages including Tasmanian itineraries — two from Melbourne and one from Sydney — are part of the 90,900gt liner’s 2019 world voyage.

During the March 12, 2019 six-night round trip from Melbourne to Tasmania, the Australian Dance Theatre, Australia’s longest-running contemporary dance company, will perform a tailor-made piece, ‘The Beginning of Nature.’

Performances, workshops and classes

As well as two performances, the Australian Dance Theatre will hold workshops and movement classes for passengers led by the ADT’s artistic director Garry Stewart.

As also reported here, the speed with which this two month deployment sold has led Cunard to homeport Queen Elizabeth in Australia for an unprecedented 101 days between December 2019 and March 2020
