Majesty of the Seast was held overnight at Port Canaveral
Royal Caribbean International's Majesty of the Seas sailed Tuesday afternoon from Port Canaveral after safety discrepancies were addressed, a US Coast Guard public affairs officer said. The ship was held overnight following a routine inspection that turned up five violations.

One of those related to some of the life jackets, which the officer said could be due to 'wear and tear' or the age of the life jackets.

According to a Royal Caribbean spokeswoman, life jacket replacements arrived to the ship early Tuesday.

The USCG public affairs officer could not provide details on the other discrepancies but said the cruise line had addressed all of them by Tuesday afternoon.

Majesty of the Seas sailed at 5 p.m., the Royal Caribbean spokeswoman said. The ship will call at Nassau from noon to midnight on Wednesday and will return to Port Canaveral at 7 a.m. Friday, as scheduled.
