The Nov. 24 voyage includes an evening with the Columbia River Symphony at the historic Liberty Theatre in Astoria, Oregon
The American Queen Steamboat Co. added three new Columbia River cruises this fall aboard American Empress. The five-day sailings sail round-trip from Vancouver, Washington, just across the river from Portland, Oregon.

'Fall is a special time in the Pacific Northwest, and we’re happy to offer more sailings this year aboard the American Empress,' said Ted Sykes, president and COO of American Queen Steamboat Co. 'These five-day voyages are perfect for travelers with busy schedules who may be looking to sample river cruising for the first time, and they also offer excellent value.'

Classical concert or a sock hop

The newly added cruises include special off-the-boat exclusive events like an evening with the Columbia River Symphony at the historic Liberty Theatre in Astoria, Oregon, during the Nov. 24 voyage. There, American Empress passengers will be treated to an evening of classic and modern music.

Another highlight will be an old-fashioned sock hop at the National Neon Museum in The Dalles, Oregon, during Nov. 28 and Dec. 2 sailings. This will be a special night of music, dancing and old time fun amid one of the largest collections of neon storefront signs in the world.

Fares start at $899

The sailings start at $899 per person.

Besides crisp autumn air and panoramic fall colors, each port features an included shore excursion, such as a tour of the impressive Bonneville Dam and the magnificent Astoria Column, with views for miles.

Wine and beer with dinner are included aboard American Empress.
