American Cruise Lines plans its biggest season ever on the Mississippi in 2021.

The line will introduce two new modern riverboats, a 'Music Cities' cruise between Nashville and Memphis, 15 new shore excursions, all-private transportation on shore and new enrichment programs on board.

From late February through December, American’s new modern riverboats and classic paddlewheelers will ply the Mississippi from St. Paul to New Orleans. Next year, American will introduce modern riverboats American Jazz and American Melody, joining its fleet of paddlewheelers.

Throughout July, August and September, eight-day 'Music Cities' cruises on American Jazz will sail between Memphis and Nashville, along the Mississippi, Tennessee, Ohio and Cumberland rivers.

Ports include Clarksville and Dover, Tennessee, and Paducah, Kentucky, with cruising of Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake.

New shore excursions/enrichment

Also new are 15 shore excursions including active explorations plus culinary enrichment and musical entertainment on board. Ashore, the line will provide 100% private transportation on new luxury Cruise Coaches that follow the riverboats from port to port.

Free pre-cruise package

American is also offering free one-night pre-cruise packages from every Mississippi River departure port in 2021, plus new extended pre- and post-cruise packages and luxury Four Seasons pre-cruise packages in select cities along the Mississippi and across the country.

At year's end, the Mississippi offerings culminate with festive holiday sailings, from Thanksgiving to Christmas and New Year’s cruises.
