Industry background
Papachristou served as senior project manager at MedCruise from 2013-18, having previously been advisor to the secretary general of ports and port policy at the Ministry of Development Competitiveness and Shipping of the Hellenic Republic.
A founding member of PortEconomics.eu, she is currently in the process of concluding a PhD thesis which examines cruise ports’ governance.
A maritime economist with experience in port economics, management and policy, Papachristou holds a BSc and MSc in shipping, trade and transport from the University of the Aegean.
The appointment has seen Papachristou step down as business consultant on cruise-rail integration for Greece’s railway company, TRAINOSE.
