CEO Michael Heath said Tanguay’s appointment highlights the importance of the North American market for the company’s growth plans as it continues to raise its profile as a leading expedition operator with the region’s travel trade.
Tanguay, who has more than a decade of sales experience in the polar expedition industry, will work closely with Aurora’s regional leaders — Lisa Bertini (VP sales North America), Steve McLaughlin (APAC sales director) and Jos Dewing (MD EMEA).
Pivotal time
‘David’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Aurora Expeditions,’ Heath said. ‘We now have two purpose-built ships, Greg Mortimer and Sylvia Earle, and we have ambitious plans for our future growth.’
‘I am incredibly excited to be joining a purpose driven organisation that embeds sustainability into global strategy,’ Tanguay said.
Conservation awareness
‘Expedition travel has the power to make a positive impact by creating conservation awareness and giving back to communities,’ he said.
‘Aurora Expeditions is a pioneer in this space and I look forward to working with Aurora’s talented global team to promote the life-changing experiences they have been offering for over 30 years.'
