Aqua Expeditions returns to Indonesia following easing of quarantine rules

Aqua Blu will follow the Coral Triangle during its seven- and 12-night itineraries in the Indonesian Archipelago
Aqua Blu is the first Aqua Expeditions vessel to resume sailing in Indonesia after the country relaxed COVID-19 quarantine rules last month.

The ship set off for Komodo National Park, Spice Islands and Raja Ampat on June 4 as part of its individual cabin charter (FIT) sailings, with Indonesia opening to vaccinated travellers without quarantine or tests on May 18.

Aqua Expeditions full fleet will be back in operation by mid-September: Aqua Mare began operating in the Galapagos Islands last month; Aqua Mekong returns to sailing September 23.

Aqua Blu is based in the biodiverse Indonesian Archipelago sailing seven- and 12-night itineraries in the Coral Triangle. 

Refurbishment

It underwent refurbishment in 2019 overseen by Dutch design studio Cor D. Rover. It has 15 individually designed sea-facing suites in three cabin categories and five decks, and its contemporary interiors are in shades of brass-and-ivory. 

Aqua Blu's indoor and outdoor spaces include a sun deck, bridge deck, forecastle deck and main deck which showcases multiple amenities such as an indoor lounge and bar, outdoor jacuzzi, a spa, and non-motorised watersports equipment, including and snorkeling gear, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.
