Barcelona cruise passenger count reaches almost 1m

The results represent an increase of approximately 8.6% compared with 2019 figures
The Port of Barcelona handled 997,841 cruise passengers in the first five months of the year, marking a ‘return to pre-pandemic levels’ according to the port authority.

The number of passengers embarking/disembarking was 481,898 during this period, while 515,943 were in transit.

Cruise calls totalled 273 at the MedCruise member port.

Pre-pandemic figures

From January 1 through May 31, 2019 cruise traffic at Barcelona port brought in 915,116 passengers.

The new statistics represent an increase of approximately 8.6% in cruise passengers compared with the same period four years ago.
