CruiseCopenhagen is encouraging its partners to use memorable means to create safe environments, including advocating the use of teddy bears as markers for social distancing, with the soft toys currently used to separate people at Tivoli Gardens amusement park.

Said Lars Adler, director, business sales, Tivoli, ‘When people are riding the roller-coaster or sitting in the carousel, they sit next to a teddy bear instead of a red cross or a sign.’

Creating memorable experiences

The move follows CruiseCopenhagen’s digital autumn meeting where 'Safety as an experience' was a major topic.

‘It is crucial to maintain COVID-19 restrictions but, if possible, it should not affect the guest experience in a negative way,’ said Claus Bødker, director, CruiseCopenhagen. ‘This is why we encouraged our partners at the annual autumn meeting to share ideas on how to maintain safety measures while creating memorable guest experiences.’

Among CruiseCopenhagen’s 60 partners is Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport, which recently introduced a robot to disinfect large areas and meeting rooms, as well as airline Emirates that now distributes hygiene kits as an extra service.
