Helsinki Shipyard and ALMACO will come together to create two luxury expedition vessels for Swan Hellenic.

Vega Project

Called the 'Vega Project', the Finnish shipyard was tasked in April with the construction and commissioning of NB 516 (SH Minerva) and NB 517 for conclusion in 2022. The Shipyard since went on to select ALMACO for the design, procurement and construction of both ships’ passenger and crew cabins, and crew public areas.

Cabins on board the 113 mtr, 152-passenger vessels will be designed in ‘Scandi-luxe chic’ style. Fitted with polar ice-class technology, they will cruise Arctic and Antarctic waters in winter and tropical waters during spring and autumn.

‘We are looking forward to starting the actual work at the shipyard and to get this fast-paced project successfully delivered to the owner and its customers’, offered Esko Ryyppö, project manager, Vega project, ALMACO.
