The multi-million dollar makeover of P&O Cruises Australia’s Pacific Dawn has begun at Sembcorp Marine Admiralty Yard in Singapore.

As previously reported, Pacific Dawn, the former Regal Princess which became a resident ship in Sydney in November 2007, will be fitted with a state-of-the-art waterpark and The Pantry, an international market place that replaces the traditional buffet.

Also new will be a Mediterranean-inspired outlet called Nic and Toni’s and a seafood restaurant, Shell & Bones.

The refit comes as P&O Cruises Australia prepares for its biggest year of Queensland cruising, with two ships sailing from Brisbane year round.

Between them, Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria will offer a record 108 cruises from Brisbane this year, up from 98 cruises in 2016.

Pacific Dawn sails from Singapore on March 2, arriving in Brisbane on March 16.
