Holland America Line is positioning two ships in Australia for the 2022-23 cruise season for the first time since 2016.

Westerdam arrives in Sydney on November 8 on her maiden voyage to Australia.

She will cruise between Australia and New Zealand until January 3 when she makes a 16-day voyage to Singapore via the Great Barrier Reef and Indonesia.

Noordam arrives in Sydney from San Diego on November 12.

Circumnavigation of Australia

She will then circumnavigate Australia via Queensland and Papua New Guinea, the Northern Territory, Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania, returning to Sydney December 17.

She will also operate cruises between Australia and New Zealand until April 8, 2023, when she sails through the South Pacific to Vancouver, arriving May 2.

‘After being away from Australia for far too long, we are excited to be back in this beautiful part of the world,’ HAL President Gus Antorcha said.

Forward bookings

‘Despite just opening sales for Westerdam in Australia seven months ago, we’re already seeing some full cruises in the region,’ Antorcha said.

HAL’s Volendam will depart San Diego on January 3, 2024, to make a 94-day Grand Australia and New Zealand Voyage.
