Seabourn Odyssey is due to begin sailing as Mitsui Ocean Fuji in December
V.Ships Leisure was selected to handle the technical management of Mitsui Ocean Fuji when it joins the Mitsui Ocean Cruises fleet in December.

The ship is currently operating as Seabourn Odyssey.

Prior to reflagging

Mitsui Ocean Fuji's technical management will be outsourced to V.Ships Leisure for the period during which the ship is operating under foreign registry. It is currently flagged to the Bahamas.

By working with V.Ships Leisure, which has extensive experience in cruise ship management worldwide, Mitsui Ocean Cruises said it will be able to provide a 'stable and continuous supply of safe and secure cruises and to utilise the knowledge and experience of V.Ships Leisure S.A.M. to develop our own management system after the ship is registered in Japan.'

Mitsui Ocean Cruises plans to directly manage the hotel department and crew.

August handover to Mitsui

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines acquired the 2009-built Seabourn Odyssey last March and is chartering it back to Seabourn through Aug. 22.

Before its December debut as Mitsui Ocean Fuji, cosmetic changes including new livery are in store. There are plans for a more detailed refurbment in 2026.
