'After several years building the coastal fleet, we are once again ready to begin building out the US river cruise capacity,' Charles B. Robertson said
American Cruise Lines contracted three vessels for delivery in 2025 from Chesapeake Shipbuilding.

These join the two Coastal Cats — American Liberty and American Legend — already under construction for 2024 delivery from the Salisbury, Maryland shipyard.

Riverboats and Coastal Cats

The three are a mix of modern riverboat and Coastal Cat, furthering the line's expansion in the coastal market that included 2023's American Glory and American Liberty and renewing its focus on the Mississippi and Columbia rivers.

'After several years building the coastal fleet, we are once again ready to begin building out the US river cruise capacity,' said Charles B. Robertson, president & CEO of American Cruise Lines.

More details, including schedules, are expected to be announced this quarter.

Fleet of 22

The five newbuilds will boost American's fleet to 22 vessels.
