Marella Explorer to position to the Canaries for planned mid-November start
Due to ongoing uncertainty around travel restrictions, Marella Cruises is extending its pause in operations until November 15.

The UK operator, part of TUI UK & Ireland, has cancelled the full Corfu cruise programme, so it will no longer be sailing from Corfu this year. Marella had hoped to start Marella Explorer out of the Greek island on October 2, pending UK government travel advice changes.

Canary Islands instead

Based on current plans, Marella Explorer will start sailing from the Canary Islands on November 16.

‘Due to ongoing certainty we’ve made the decision to cancel and hope to restart mid-November in the Canaries if travel advice allows,’ Amy Dowling, senior public relations manager, marketing and customer experience, TUI Group told Seatrade Cruise News.

MSC Cruises today delayed its Eastern Mediterranean resumption due to the Italian government's recent introduction of additional testing for residents of Italy having traveled to Greece.
