Crystal’s chairman, ceo and president, Edie Rodriguez, cut the ribbon to officially open the company’s new regional office at 6 O’Connell Street in Sydney on February 10.

‘I am delighted to have Karen Christensen running Australia for us,’ Rodriguez, who has been with the company for three-and-a-half years, said.‘I think this market is right for growth and I think the fantastic team Karen has put together will grow Australia for us.

‘I am very bullish about Karen, her team and our beautiful new Sydney office. I think it will be our most successful office in the world.’

Earlier in the day Rodriguez, who will visit Fremantle, Melbourne and Adelaide before leaving Australia on February 25 for India, hosted a media lunch with Christensen aboard Crystal Symphony.

She said Crystal is now a global luxury travel company and outlined its expansion in ocean, expedition and river cruising, as well as exclusive air travel.

She said a highlight of Crystal’s presence in Australia will be the meeting of Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity in Sydney Harbour on February 17 next year.
