'We are thrilled to offer our guests the opportunity to travel to Europe without the need for air travel,' said Janet Parton
Avalon Waterways is set to introduce no-fly cruises operated by Eurostar, the high-speed railway service connecting London with continental Europe.

The selected no-fly sailings will be scheduled for 2023 and 2024, but available to book this year from April 20. Passengers will be required to take the Eurostar from London St. Pancras International to Paris Gare du Nord or Amsterdam where they will join their river cruise ship docked in the heart of the city.

Responding to demand

‘Travel Agents and guests have been asking us for no-fly cruises and we have listened,’ said Janet Parton, sales and marketing director, Avalon Waterways. ‘With escalating air fares to Europe, we believe these cruises will be very popular.’

Parton went on to add that sustainability is important to the brand, which is ‘proud’ to provide the service, since travelling by train is ‘a more sustainable and hassle-free way’ to explore Europe than by air.

Itineraries

‘There are five itineraries for both 2023 and 2024 departures that can be combined with Eurostar: Tulip Time, Active and Discovery on the Seine, Paris to Normandy, Active & Discovery Holland & Belgium and Grand Tulip Cruise,’ explained Parton. Active & Discovery Holland & Belgium, a seven-night cruise departing July 23, 2023 will lead in at £1,918 per person including Eurostar travel.

Noted the director, ‘With Eurostar's high-speed rail service, our guests will be able to sit back, relax, and take in the stunning scenery as they travel from London to Paris or Amsterdam, before embarking on their unforgettable river cruise holiday.’
