'Little Carnival' is a scale model of Carnival Spirit
To coincide with Carnival Spirit’s 19-day voyage from Singapore to Sydney on June 6, after extensive upgrades that include new venues for children, Carnival Cruise Line in Australia has launched its newest, smallest ship.

Designed by Will Calhoun of Big Kahuna Imagineering in Sydney, 'Little Carnival' is a scale model of Carnival Spirit, right down to its trademark water slide Green Thunder that was developed 'with adventure-loving Aussies in mind' when the ship underwent 'Aussification' before being permanently based in Sydney in 2012.

Calhoun, a former model maker and prop designer for Fox Studios, founded Big Kahuna in 2000 to bring creative ideas to life across the arts, advertising and entertainment industries.

‘We do big things for some of the most recognisable brands in the world,’ Calhoun said. ‘We do our part to make those brands current, innovative and memorable.’

Little Carnival will be cycled around Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane

He used a computer-aided design and draft drawing to create Little Carnival which is made from low density polyethylene corflute. He 3-D printed it to scale and mounted it on an electric tricycle with a top speed of 25km an hour.

Over the next few weeks it will be cycled around Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

A Carnival Cruise Line spokesperson said Little Carnival will provide ‘fun for the whole family.'
