Coco Beach Club offers the Bahamas' first floating cabanas
Royal Caribbean International on Friday welcomed the first guests to its new Coco Beach Club on Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.

The extra-fee Coco Beach Club offers the first floating cabanas in the Bahamas, an oceanfront infinity pool, beach cabanas, a dedicated restaurant with upscale dining and an exclusive bar.

Rounding out Perfect Day at CocoCay is the opening of two refreshed beaches — Breezy Bay at Chill Island and South Beach — open to all passengers.

$250m phase one completed

Coco Beach Club marks the completion of the $250m transformation, and phase one, of Perfect Day at CocoCay.

The 20 floating cabanas bring a bit of Bora Bora to the island. Each features a private slide into the ocean, overwater hammock, dining area, freshwater shower, wet bar and open ocean vista.

Other choices include 10 beach cabanas, luxe hideaways nestled on shore for relaxation and great views. All the Coco Beach Club cabanas accommodate up to eight people and feature loungers, a dining area, charging outlets, a mini-fridge and snorkel gear.

A dedicated cabana attendant tends to needs, from beachside drinks to snacks.

The clubhouse

The clubhouse is the center of social activity at Coco Beach Club with a bar serving specialty cocktails, including the Coco Cuvee signature drink, and a 2,600-square-foot, oceanfront infinity pool with in-pool loungers, daybeds and poolside service. The restaurant, complimentary and only for beach club guests, offers an elevated menu that features fresh lobster, grouper and steak, plus a spread of salads, fruits and starters.

Passengers looking to fuel their competitive fire can visit South Beach, a revamped, action-packed beach destination that offers volleyball and beachside basketball. Nearby is the island’s third Snack Shack, and drinks are available at three bars, including a floating bar just offshore. There are 10 new beachfront cabanas, too.

Sixteen ships to call

This year, Perfect Day at CocoCay is set to welcome 16 Royal Caribbean ships from more ports than ever, including Miami, Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, Bayonne (New Jersey) and Galveston.
