Coffee made by Caffè Vergnano 1882 will be served on all Costa Cruises ships, with a dedicated cafeteria carrying the historic Piedmontese company's branding on board Costa Smeralda and set to feature on forthcoming sister vessel, Costa Toscana.

Run by the Vergnano family, the collaboration will see Caffè Vergnano’s Italian espresso served in the bars of all Costa’s ships and used to prepare coffee-based delicacies on-board.

Flavour of Italy

‘As a cruise company flying the Italian flag, our mission has always been to be ambassadors of "made in Italy"…’ explained Mario Zanetti, president, Costa Cruises.  ‘It is a new, important partnership with a historic company, which shares our same values of promoting Italian excellence and paying attention to environmental and social sustainability.

‘As confirmation of this, the greenest and most sustainable ships in our fleet, Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana, will also offer a dedicated coffee experience with Caffè Vergnano 1882-branded cafeterias.’

Both flagship Costa Smeralda and sister ship Costa Toscana – which enters service at the end of the year – are LNG-powered.

Concluded Carolina Vergnano, CEO, Caffè Vergnano 1882, ‘Caffè Vergnano has been able to establish a strategic collaboration with Costa Cruises, which will allow it to further establish itself as an ambassador of authentic Italian espresso in the world…’
