The vessel was met with the traditional plaque and key ceremony, involving Capt. Diego Michelozzi and Port of Southampton Director Alastair Welch, before it continued its 14-night international itinerary, sailing France and Portugal and concluding in Barcelona.

MSC Cruises also has a strategic partnership agreement with the port; the 181,000gt MSC Virtuosa called at the terminal July 3 amid its UK summer sailings.
