The ship, which was returning from a nine-night round cruise to Queensland with 2,800 passengers, was given an ‘amber’ moderate impact rating.
This covers 30 to 99 cases out of 1,000 passengers.
Coral Princess
Amber is the same rating that was applied to Princess Cruises’ Coral Princess when she arrived in Sydney last week with COVID-19 cases.
Pacific Explorer’s passengers had to provide a self-administered rapid antigen test within 24 hours of disembarking in Sydney with the results subject to random checks.
The company will provide isolation accommodation for infected passengers who don’t have private transport to get home.
