Half of the vessel’s 500 passengers joined one of many excursions available to explore the historic city, Tabernas Desert, Cabo de Gata-Níjar National Park, the mountain village of Mojácar, and Níjar, which is renowned for its handicrafts in pottery, ceramics and textiles.
The remaining 50% of passengers that disembarked Seabourn Ovation on October 12 discovered the city independently.
Four vessels arriving in November
Seadream Yacht Club, Windstar Cruises and Oceania Cruises will each have a vessel call in Almería next month, with Seabourn Ovation also returning in November.

Fam trip
Seatrade Cruise joined an exclusive familiarisation trip to Almería from October 15-18 coordinated by the foundation of the Port of Almería in cooperation with Almería Port Authority, and the Almería Municipality and Tourism Board. It included visits to the 11th century Alcazaba fortress, civil war underground shelters, cathedral, museums and the traditional market, selling fresh fish, fruits and vegetables.
Outside of the city, highlights included visits to pristine, empty beaches, salt pans to observe flamingoes and learn about the salt crystallisation process, vineyards located 1,200 metres above sea level, and an olive oil mill.
Fresh seafood and various local delicacies were presented, showcasing the region’s gastronomy.
