Princess Cruises continues to adjust the Alaska itineraries for several of its ships following the closure of a dock in Skagway.

This springs from the decision by White Pass Railroad to close the forward berth at the Railroad Dock on safety concerns following a rockslide.

Five sailings to Icy Strait or Sitka

Instead of calling to Skagway over the next two weeks, the Aug. 2 and Aug. 10 cruises for Royal Princess, and the Aug. 9 sailing of Majestic Princess will feature Icy Strait Point. In addition, the Aug. 3 cruise of Majestic Princess and Aug. 11 sailing of Discovery Princess will visit Sitka instead.

The line said it tried to keep original itineraries intact, but the changes had to be made because the forward dock is the primary location used by Royal-class ships in Skagway and there are no other viable alternatives.

Additional updates for voyages for the rest of the Alaska season will be decided soon.
