Carnival hopes it will soon be able to wave off Carnival Horizon from PortMiami
Carnival Cruise Line canceled additional sailings as it also expressed the hope for a possible July restart on three ships from Texas and Florida.

They are Carnival Vista and Carnival Breeze from Galveston, and Carnival Horizon from Miami.

Alaska miracle?

Further, Carnival said if a solution can be found to allow Alaska cruising, Carnival Miracle will assume some of Carnival Freedom’s departures from Seattle.

Considering the uncertainty in its ability to operate these cruises, Carnival is allowing passengers to cancel without penalty by May 31 to receive a full refund.

Sailings on all other ships were canceled through July 30. (Australia-based Carnival Splendor and Carnival Spirit are already paused to mid-September.) Impacted travelers are eligible for a future cruise credit and on-board credit or a full refund.

Unanswered CDC questions

'We continue to have constructive discussions with the CDC but still have many questions that remain unanswered,' Carnival President Christine Duffy said. 'We are working diligently to resume sailing in the US and meet the CDC guidelines.'
