The ship emerged from Papenburg's covered building dock approximately 15 months after Meyer cut the first steel.

Sixth new ship in just three years

Silver Ray scheduled to debut in the Mediterranean in June as the sixth addition to Silversea’s fleet in just three years.

Approximately 100,000 cubic meters of water flooded the dock over four hours, and two tugboats guided the 728-passenger ship from the hall into the harbor basin, where the docking out phase will continue. The team subsequently installed Silver Ray's funnel and radar mast.

Lucky coin

Silver Ray Capt. Alessandro Zanello welded a newly minted, commemorative coin to a wall on the pool deck for good luck.

'We received such incredibly strong feedback on Silver Nova from guests, travel advisors and members of the press following her launch in August 2023,' Silversea President Barbara Muckermann said. This innovative class, she continued, fits into Royal Caribbean Group's aspiration to deliver a lifetime of vacations for guests on its global brands.

Silver Ray will soon undertake its conveyance along the Ems River to the North Sea where sea trials will take place.

Lisbon debut

The ship is to debut in Lisbon in early June before spending its inaugural season in the Mediterranean before redeploying to the US and embarking on a voyage around South America in January 2025.
