3,000 passengers – from home and abroad – embarked the ship, which set sail on its inaugural voyage from Shanghai yesterday
Adora Magic City’s inaugural voyage is underway, having set sail from Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Port on January 1.

The first Chinese-built large cruise ship is undertaking a seven-day voyage that includes calls to Jeju in South Korea, plus Fukuoka and Nagasaki in Japan.

While able to accommodate up to 5,246 passengers, on board the 135,500gt vessel are 3,000 domestic and international guests. They were welcomed by Adora’s senior management team at the Adora Plaza atrium while music played.

As Adora Magic City sailed away, the ship’s horn was sounded in salutation to all those who contributed to the important moment.

Looking to the future

‘We chose to launch the inaugural voyage of Adora Magic City on the first day of 2024 to convey our best wishes to our guests, wishing them a prosperous and happy life in the new year,’ said Ranfeng Chen, CEO of Adora Cruises. ‘We hope it will also usher in a more promising future of the cruise business in China. Together, with our crew family members from around 30 countries, we will try our best in every aspect of product and service to create magnificent cruise experiences for our guests.’
