New Orleans-bound

Salisbury, Maryland's Chesapeake Shipbuilding continued working through the pandemic and completed American Melody on time. The vessel is now heading to New Orleans to prepare for its sold-out inaugural Mississippi River voyage on Aug. 27.

American Melody will continue to ply the Mississippi through December, including a 22-day journey the full length of the river, between New Orleans and St. Paul, Minnesota.

American Melody and its 2022 sister vessels can each carry 175 passengers, all in balcony staterooms and suites. Public room features include sky-lit atriums, multiple indoor and outdoor lounges, fitness centers, grand dining rooms, casual outdoor cafés and dramatic, open-air Skywalks.

15-strong fleet in 2022

American Melody, American Symphony and American Serenade will bring fleet to 15 small ships including 10 riverboats and five coastal vessels. Itineraries visit more than 30 US states.
