Carnival Jubilee gained Carnival Cruise Line's distinctive winged funnel Tuesday alongside the outfitting pier at Meyer Werft in Papenburg.

The ship’s crowning took place just a few days after it was floated out from the yard’s covered building dock sporting a star of Texas on its bow, and following the successful completion of testing the bow thrusters and stabilizers.

Construction continues as crews outfit Excel-class feaures including the BOLT roller-coaster, Emeril Lagasse's third seagoing restaurant, Emeril's Bistro 717, and two new sea-themed zones: Currents and The Shores.

Carnival Jubilee is scheduled to begin service from the Port of Galveston Dec. 23.
