Celebrity Beyond will embark on its maiden voyage in less than 80 days
Celebrity Beyond successfully completed its sea trials last weekend in the Bay of Biscay before returning to nearby Chantiers de l’ Atlantique shipyard in Saint Nazaire, France.

Capt. Kate McCue was at the helm of the Celebrity Cruises vessel whose operations were overseen by more than 50 crew members, engineers and nautical experts.

‘I can’t tell you how excited I am to have completed this important milestone…’ said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, CEO and president, Celebrity Cruises. ‘Beyond showed why there is so much more to her than just her looks. Like her sister ships – Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Edge – she went beyond what was needed to demonstrate she’s ready.’

Capt. McCue said the ship’s ‘smooth sailing and manoeuvrability is a testament to her innovative design,’ and described the latest Edge-Series vessel as ‘awe-inspiring.’

At 17 decks high and 21 meters longer than its predecessors Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Beyond holds the title of the largest ship in Celebrity Cruises’ fleet. Its maiden voyage is a 10-night Western Europe cruise, which departs Southampton April 27 calling Bordeaux, France; Lisbon, Portugal; and Seville, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona, Spain.
