Christopher Prelog, who marks three years as president of Windstar Cruises this week, will host a 2024 Canary Islands voyage.

In addition to several new Canary Islands cruises in 2024, Windstar will sail there consistently from November 2025 through March 2026.

The eight-day 'Captivating Canary Islands President's Cruise' will embark April 20 from Las Palmas to Lisbon, with calls at Lanzarote, San Sebastian, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Funchal (Madeira).

Eventful presidency

Prelog assumed the Windstar presidency in the depths of the pandemic. From restarting operations in 2021 to overseeing the lengthening, update and debut of three ships to moving the line's headquarters from Seattle to Miami, his time on the job has been anything but 'business as usual.'

And Prelog's rise to the presidency is remarkable, too, since he began his cruise career as a waiter.

Record sales

Windstar said Prelog's third year leading the brand comes in tandem with record-breaking sales, an expanded team (many of whom also climbed the Jacob's ladder from ship’s crew to the boardroom), new destinations including dozens of just-added cruise-tours and air/hotel packages, cultural and environmental partnerships, and a reinvigorated devotion to onboard excellence, as well as the travel advisor community.
